Thanks JT, I was told that because I am a disfellowshipped person, that the elders would not believe me (re: what my sister is doing)..AND, according to the witnesses I asked, (this was a few weeks ago), aside from the elders not believing me, it didn't matter, because Jehovah knows and will take care of it at the proper time! LOL cynically...Well, alot has changed in a few weeks, and according to my Mom, she does not want this JW 'thing' my sister is trying to push her in to. My Mom is not well either, in fact she had a heart attack 4 months ago, and she is still weak..and vulnerable. This just totally sickens me...Thank you again..NK

JW causing more grief over my Dad's death Sat.

my jw sister is causing problems with my dad's death this past saturday..she is down in florida, where my parents live, went there on a pleasure trip to begin with, then our dad passed (as i wrote) unexpectedly..now, she is pressuring my mom to have a viewing and a 'talk' by some jw's and my mom does not want this..my sister is one of those 'double life' jw's..she says unkind things about me behind my back, re: my illness(as my mom has told me), but she has been 'engaged' for 4 yrs.to a 'worldly guy' and we all know they sleep together, etc.,then she turns around and acts like she's miss spirituality..for her to do what she's doing now, well i don't know what to do..i want my mom and dad's wishes to be #1, and for her to try and pressure my mom into a service, also without giving me a chance to be there, well i'm not feeling too good at this point..thank you all so much for your replies, e-mails and love..don't know what i would do without you guys.

My Dad died Saturday unexpectedly...

i want to happily say that i sent my dad a print-out of some of your key material re;org, last week and he read it all...witnesses were 'on his back' lately, and he appreciated it.
keep up the positive focus..it is so important..i wanted to write more, but i guess i'm in shock 'cause i just can't do it...thanks to all of you for your support and help with all the stuff that i've been on the board about..peace and love to all of you and your families..nk

Gasoline Price in your area
by JH inyesterday alone the price of gasoline went up 9 cents a liter here in eastern canada passing from 68 to 77 cents a liter.
a one day jump of 9 cents a liter is equal to about 40 cents a gallon.
so now we pay 77 cents a liter or 3.50$ a canadian gallon.

What Double Standards Do JW's Practice?
by minimus inone double standard that always got to me was how a body of elders would talk about how a brother needed to "qualify" for some privilege by being a good example for weekend service and yet a number of elders would hardly ever go out in field service at all!
or how they would use 2 hours to literally gossip about everyone in the congregation, and then give a local needs talk on the need of not talking about the brothers and minding our own business.........what double standards got to you?

One of my siblings is a Witness, she is very pretty and acts very sweet, but she preaches, preaches, preaches and I see her celebrating Thanksgiving, she is engaged to a 'worldly' man(for a number of years), her fiancee tells my husband about how great their sex life is(who tells him he dosen't want to hear about it)and then talks about me behind my back! Whew!! Thanx for lettin' me vent! NK

Filing a Lawsuit to see my granddaughter
by Nancy K inhi everyone, hoping you're having a good day...i am a "newbie", posted before (re: missing my granddaughter)..well, i have been thinking long and hard, and then long and harder still and i've decided to start a suit to see if i can get grandparent visitation to see my dearly-loved "chloe" who is 6 years old.
my husband is an attorney(not chloe's grandfather) and he wants to take them on, after seeing what 2 years of being cut-off from her, has put me through.
i have an illness, and the stress of missing chloe of course makes me feel worse.

New to JW and looking for the right associations.
by sunflwergirl420 ini have been studying to become a witness for about 1yr now and am doing what i can to become clean to be baptised.
unfortunately almost all of my friends were bad associations and i don't deal with them anymore.
i am looking for people to chat with who have the same goals in mind that i do.

Hi Sunflwr! I am pretty 'new' to this board myself...I want to commend you on wanting to focus your life on better things than drugs, alcohol, etc. This is a smart CHOICE on your part, not only for yourself, but your children as well...I began studying with the 'Witnesses' shortly after my brother died from drugs in 1975, and I met many really nice people and I regained some peace that was missing in my life...All I would like to say to you is to take your time, seriously...This is a major, life-changing event, baptism, and right now you are coming out of and STILL going through alot...One thing I've learned and ANY counselor will tell you is not to make any major life-changing decisions, such as that, in the midst of grief, detoxification, depression, etc. Give yourself all the time you need to work through what you have to...Keep up with your meds, counseling, support groups as well as your bible study. Be good to yourself and your children, and NEVER let anyone pressure you to 'speed things up'. You have been through alot, you didn't get where you are overnight, so it will take some time to feel better.. I wish you all the best, YOU CAN DO IT!! Write to me or any of us here, we're all here for each other! NK...Sunflwr, I just read the post by 'Inquiry' and all I can say is he put things 'in the light', as I was avoiding coming right out and saying negative, yet truthful things re: the Witnesses ..Inquiry is really telling it like it is, and although I meant everything I wrote, watch what happens if you ask the Witnesses about therapy, AA, NA, other ways of helping yourself? I'm sure they will tell you all you need is Jehovah, the meetings, the 'friends', and that is where the trouble begins...Peace..(Read my 'bio'...)
